Need to cure ringworm, ring worm or tinea?
Suddenly you’ve noticed those itchy raised red patches on your skin - ring worm! Also called tinea, this fungal infection spreads easily as it is quite contagious. Children frequently contract it and it can be spread by contact with infected skin, infected pets, sharing combs and the like. Although antifungal creams and oral medications are available over the counter, if you need a home remedy for ringworm we have some below.
Top Home Ring Worm Remedies:
Penny and Vinegar - Soak a penny in vinegar and after crystals form on the coin, bandage the coin over the infected area. May kill off the fungus.
Jock Itch Cream - rubbed over the infected area. Claims are that they work just as well as any ringworm specific medications.
Chewing Tobbaco - Wet the chewing tobacco and bandage it over the infected area.
Calamine Lotion and Tea Tree Oil applied over the infected area after it has been cleaned and dried.
Clear Nail Polish - spread over the infected area.
Bleach dabbed over the infected area. (Very dangerous, especially if you are allergic or you have open wounds - not recommended.)
Iodine applied to the infected area on a regular basis.
Prevention of Ringworm:
So you and your or your pet won’t need a home remedy for ring worm, don’t share personal items like your hair brush.
Always wash your clothes and wear dry clean clothing.
Make sure to wear sneakers when you go to the gym and wear your own sandals in public showers.
